ABOUT ME

I am a writer and visual artist. I studied my degree in English Literature at Bristol University, where I completed my thesis on accounts of bodily joining with nature in the literature and philosophy of Michel Tournier and Gaston Bachelard.

My work explores the poetics of space and time, nature, and religion. I am interested in literary and artistic otherworlds, in real natural landscapes that are somehow ‘othered’, or that provide an experience of the ‘other’.

During my studies, I lived abroad in Reykjavík where I specialised in Icelandic folklore. My work since then has been greatly inspired by Icelandic nature and mythology.

I am currently developing my research thesis into an embroidery project called the oneiric earth, and exploring the dream state through a series of moving image films entitled dreamspace.
