An oil painting created considering the degradation of the River Wye and general bodies of water by pollutants and plastic. I created this during lockdown when working as a support worker and using PPE everyday, which was of course essential but at the same time felt wrong to use when I know that environmental neglect only serves to contribute towards pandemics.
This period of time left a difficult question in my mind of where the balance lies between protecting the lives of the vulnerable and protecting the earth.
